What a Blessing
On Feb. 1st, Kent was able to give Evan his newborn blessing. You could tell Kent was nervous, but the blessing he gave was wonderful. Evan didn't make a peep...he slept the whole time. His Nana had his cute little blessing outfit made for him. Since he's such a chunk, he barely fit it on his blessing day. I thought for sure it was going to rip trying to get it on him. Once on him though, he was such a handsome little guy. He is truly a blessing to our family and we all love him...especially his big sister Gracie.

Playing Catch Up!!
Wow, it seems that times flies by too quickly to even wonder where the time even went! Since our last posting we've celebrated Ava's 4th birthday and Gracie's 2nd birthday, dressed up for Halloween, celebrated the birth of our new baby Evan, enjoyed the wonderful food at Thanksgiving, celebrated the birth of our Savior during this past Christmas season, and watched Katelin enjoy her first sleepover for her 9th birthday party. So where does time go? The only reasoning I can come up with is that of making new memories and remembering the old.
Every day that goes by we encounter something new, different, exciting...anything, that has a lasting effect on every single one of us. It's up to us to decide how we want to use our time. This year Kent and I along with our children made some individual and family goals, which we believe will help our family become closer to each other and to the Lord. We are so thankful for families and are grateful to all of you who love and support us.

What's Wrong With the Tooth Fairy?
Our Tooth Fairy does not seem to be doing her job lately! It was really sad that the last couple of times she FORGOT to visit Katelin! Katelin was upset the first time but the second, well she just had to write a letter telling her how sad it made her that she forgot two times. At least we don't have to worry about Katelin anymore since she's figured it out. Now Emma, she lost her first tooth last week Saturday. Her tooth was wiggling, but it took a baseball to hit her in the mouth for it to come out! Let's just say that the Tooth Fairy didn't forget this time to come because she did leave a dollar and a silver dollar. The problem with her visit was that she couldn't find the ziploc bag with the tooth in it under her pillow! The Tooth Fairy really didn't want to wake her up. The next morning Emma was bouncing with joy that the Tooth Fairy left her money...but Emma did say that she still had the tooth upstairs because the tooth was sooooo small that the Tooth Fairy couldn't see it! I think we need to have a talk with this Tooth Fairy of ours.
First Day of School
This year school started early...on Aug. 13th. It seems like the girls didn't have much time off. Katelin (3rd grade) was not very excited at all, she was much too concerned with having to do homework. Emma (1st grade) didn't really give it much thought. I think she was more excited that she wouldn't have to take a nap in school anymore and that she got to play on the BIG playground now. It's been a couple of weeks since the start of school and I think we finally have our routine together!
Finally, Horseback riding!!
Our oldest daughter Katelin has wanted to go horseback riding on a big horse since she was about 5 yrs. old. Finally, in August and the week before school started she got to go. Of course Emma tagged along, she just made the age requirement of 6, and Kent who has never been horseback riding in his life. That strikes me as odd for someone who was born and raised in Indiana to have never been on horseback! I probably sound just as ignorant as the girl who asked me if I lived in a grass shack in Hawaii ;) Ava also got to ride a pony while Gracie just sat on it.

Are You There Mommy? It's Me !!!
I now know why they say a mother's day never ends...it's because no matter how hard you try to hide from your kids, they ALWAYS find you. My Gracie and Ava (to some extent) has proven this to me. It doesn't matter if daddy is home from work, once they're done playing, they want mommy to do all the real work. Like giving baths, making bottles, putting them to bed, and all that fun. When you think you've escaped for ten minutes to take a bath and the door locked, one comes pounding on the door! I think I hear the word "mommy" every five minutes in my house and in the car, I think it's more like every minute! So the cycle goes...I escape, they find me, I want to be alone and become agitated, they start crying because they want me, then I feel bad cause they're crying, and so I give in. You gotta love the love they have for you.
